Les Grossman…The Movie?

We may be seeing more of the Tom Cruise alter ego, Les Grossman.  Grossman is the big, bald, hairy movie executive from Tropic Thunder with a mouth like a dumpster who likes to dance to Ludacris.  Most of you were able to catch him last Sunday at the MTV Movie Awards where he had a performance with Jennifer Lopez.  After the show, E! reporter Marc Malkin talked with Cruise who told him that they were working on spin off movie for the Grossman character.

“We’re working on it,” he beamed. “Yup, we’re working on it.”

It is usually hard to get a spin off right but I think there is potential here.  Personally I love stupid humor.  Some of my favorite movies are Tommy Boy, Black Sheep and Ace Ventura so I think I would enjoy whatever they come up with for Cruise.  Not since Days of Thunder and Top Gun has Tom Cruise been so cool.  Never before has he made me laugh out loud as he has with this movie mogul.  I don’t know if it’s his giant hands or his condescending attitude, but every time I see him in character I want more.

Russell Brand and Jonah Hill are the stars of the newly released Get Him to the Greek that just came out last Friday.  In the movie, Russell Brand reprises his role as Aldous Snow.  Snow was his character from Forgetting Sarah Marshall, where he played international rock star without morals and perhaps a sex addiction.  So far the movie has been dubbed a success and with the right plot line, writers and director Tom Cruise can hit one out of the park with Grossman.  I’m anxious to see what happens…
