Stick To Your Resolutions! Three Unusual Workouts To Try In 2017

With the new year approaching, the standard chorus of fitness resolutions is going to start floating around. And that’s great; it’s fantastic when people have the urge to exercise more and better themselves. But most of us are aware that these kinds of resolutions don’t usually end up leading to the kind fo commitment that will cause any real changes to happen. A lot of the time this is because people end up trying the same workout routines over and over again. When this happens, they’re far more likely to get bored, frustrated and end up throwing in the towel. Instead of going for the classic gym routines, why not try one of these more unusual sports that will keep your attention while giving you a great workout.

Bossaball

Bossaball is one of the most gloriously exciting, ridiculous and enjoyable sports to appear in recent years. Imagine a combination of soccer, gymnastics, and martial arts all taking place on an inflatable court that’s filled with trampolines. Got your attention yet? Not only is this sport fantastic fun, but it also provides an incredibly effective workout. When you’re bouncing around you, end up working out pretty much your entire body, and you can attempt various types of maneuvers that will increase your workout and look pretty darn impressive too. (Unless of course you fall flat on your face, but at least then you’ll get a good laugh.)

Wrestling

Wrestling is a classic sport that seems to have fallen out of fashion in recent years. That’s a real shame because not only does it provide a fantastic workout, it also involves a great deal of precision, technique and mental fortitude. The self-reliance and discipline that you can from wrestling can be transferred into all elements of your life. Not only that but it’s something just about anyone can do, with various age groups and ability levels so that anyone can get into it. Of course, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got the right gear, so make sure you have the right wrestling shoes and clothes before jumping in the ring. They are really a vital part of anyone’s work-out wardrobe. Sturdy wrestling shoes can also improve your performance. All-around, they’re a good idea no matter how you look at it!

Cycle Polo

Have you ever wanted to try polo but been put off the by the rather expensive need for a horse? Well, now you can try cycle polo! All the fun, exercise and exhilaration of the original sport but on two wheels instead of four hooves. This means that the whole thing is actually even more fast paced. Everyone knows what a good workout cycling is and cycle polo has all those benefits with an engaging competitive element. This sport can be a bit tricky though so it’s worth getting used to being on two wheels again before you give it ago. For the uncoordinated, it can be pretty tricky to dive into. Then again, you know what they say about riding a bike.

If you’ve got a new year’s resolution to finally get fit in 2017, then why not take up one of these sports to see if that helps you stick to it?
