Tampa Police Department Uses Interesting Strategy to Connect with the Public

tampapd

Tampa Police Department went in a more unconventional direction while figuring out the best way to let the public know how to get in touch with them.  The obvious number is 9-1-1, but there are different numbers within a police department that one might need.  If you are one of those people, you are going to have to sit through Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe while the department puts on a song and dance for you.  The video is tacky for the most part but there are some parts that I got a laugh at.  Overall though, I see what they were going for and in that regard I think they nailed it.

I’m referring to reaching out to the public and showing that they aren’t robots or a bunch of assholes and that they can have a good time and joke around too.  Also, they are showing that they are there for their citizens and they should not hesitate to call on them if they need them, no matter what.

You can follow the Tampa Police Department on Twitter, Facebook or..of course…9-1-1.
