Ashton Kutcher taking time off Twitter to get foot surgically removed from his mouth

Ashton Kutcher took to Twitter last night, like so many others, to voice his opinion about the firing of Joe Paterno at Penn State.  The problem that Kutcher incurred is that he did not read all of the information about the case before giving his two cents.  This could prove deadly when you have more than 8 million followers, a lot of whom feel strongly about the child-sex scandal that is going on right now.

Almost immediately, Kutcher began getting inundated with tweets.  Many calling him an “idiot” or a “moron”.  I was a little nicer (which is odd), my tweet said “Get educated on the entire scandal, then tweet”.  Perhaps if he tweeted the same thing without the hashtags “insult” and “noclass”, he may have been given a slight break.

I will give Kutcher a break though, he came clean and admitted he was wrong.  “Heard Joe was fired, fully recant previous tweet!” Kutcher later said. “Didn’t have full story. #admitwhenYoumakemistakes”.  Normally it is hard to get someone as famous as Kutcher to admits his faults, but he stood up and tooks his blows.

After responding to, and agreeing with, a lot of his followers who called him an “idiot”, Kutcher offered up a statement regarding the fight against child exploitation.  He followed that with saying that his Twitter account would be silent until he can figure out a way to “properly manage” his feed.  He feels awful for the error.
