Per The Hollywood Reporter, Harrison Ford has signed on to be part of the Anchorman 2 cast. Ford will reportedly play the role of a prominent newscaster in the sequel to 2004’s Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. Think along the lines of Tom Brokaw or Peter Jennings.
The movie will begin shooting this month in Atlanta with Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate and David Koechner returning from the original. A few months ago it was anounced that Kristen Wiig would be added as Brick Tamland’s (Carell) love interest. The addition of Ford is another step in the right direction and should increase anticipation and excitement for the December 2013 release.
Ford also has three other movies coming out this year. Jackie Robinson biopic 42, a thriller Paranoia and Ender’s Game. He is also expected to reprise his role as Han Solo in a Star Wars sequel.
