As we speculated at the beginning of December, Kristen Wiig will be joining the already stellar cast for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Initial reports said that Wiig would be the love interest of the trident throwing, inept weatherman Brick Tamland. Now, reports are claiming that Kristen Wiig will be the wife of the bear riding, lamp loving doofus.
Director Adam McKay tweeted out the news last night when he found out. He included a signature Ron Burgundy-esque comment too.
Adam McKay wasn’t the only one tweeting about the good news. The name sake of the movie also threw in his two cents.
In addition to McKay and Burgundy, we heard from the real life Veronica Corningstone as well.
It is great news that Kristen Wiig will be joining Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Steve Carrell and David Koechner. With a cast like that it is hard to think this sequel will be anything but hilarious.
