Michael Keaton Once Insisted On Picking Up A Check By Saying ‘I’m Batman’

Adam Sandler was on Conan on Thursday night and he told a pretty funny story from his days at Saturday Night Live. If you remember, Conan O’Brien himself was a writer for that cast that included David Spade and Chris Farley, among many other iconic players.

Sandler brought up the time Michael Keaton was hosting and all the writers took him out to dinner. Sandler claimed that there were probably 25 people at this dinner. When the check came, Keaton grabbed it and insisted on paying it. Naturally, all the writers and cast wanted to pick the bill up for him since he was their guest. This is when Keaton ended the argument quickly with one phrase.

“I’m Batman.”

In addition to that, Sandler also tells a pretty “funny because it’s true” story about Chris Farley too.
