On Saturday Night, Ryan Gosling hosted what was easily the best episode of this season for Saturday Night Live. In addition to Gosling, Leon Bridges put on two great performances too. It was actually the first episode that I watched the entire thing without shutting it off after Weekend Update.
A lot of people are talking about the first sketch with Gosling where he, Cecily Strong and Kate McKinnon are at The Pentagon talking about an alien abduction with Aidy Bryant and Kenan Thompson. Not only was the sketch stolen by McKinnon, but she also successfully made everyone of her co-stars break character, which we all know is the best.
One sketch that went overlooked because of the alien sketch was “Santa Baby” featuring Gosling and Vanessa Bayer. The two are at a neighborhood Christmas party and make things uncomfortable when they learn that Santa Claus is upstairs.
Hopefully SNL continues to bring Gosling back like they have Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin.
