‘The LEGO Movie’ Snub Results In Director Phil Lord Trolling The Academy

Phil Lord, one of the directors of arguably one of the biggest movies of 2014, was understandably a little upset by The LEGO Movie snub by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

The nominees for “Best Animated Featured Film” were announced on Thursday morning and when Phil Lord found out The LEGO Movie had been left off the list, he responded in probably the most spectacular way imaginable.

Awesome, right? His co-director, Chris Miller, also chimed in on the snub.

Nice attempt and had Lord not completely nailed his trolling, this would be perfect.

The movies that did make the nominee list are Big Hero 6, The Boxtrolls, How to Train Your Dragon 2, Song of the Sea and The Tale of Princess Kaguya.

The LEGO Movie didn’t miss out completely, though. They were nominated for Best Original Song for “Everything is Awesome.”
