Time to Grow Their Mustaches, Broken Lizard is Hoping to Begin Filming ‘Super Troopers 2’ Sometime This Year

In 2002, we were all subjected to a raunchy comedy about a group of highway patrolmen from Vermont.  We had no idea what kind of grasp they would take in the years following the film.  Super Troopers is by far one of the funniest movies of the 21st century and it’s almost a certainty that it will be quoted on a random drunken night.  I mean, how many times have you called someone a “rookie beeotch”?

Kevin Heffernan, better known as Rod “Gimme a liter of cola” Farva, confirmed to the guys at Guy Speed in an interview that their comedy group hopes to start shooting the sequel sometime this year.

There will be a Super Troopers sequel. We put it off for a while and then came back to it. We wrote the script and handed it in to Fox and now we’re just negotiating the time and the place and hopefully shoot it some time this year. I have to start growing my mustache now.

Best. News. Ever.

I don’t know about you guys but I am ready for the crew to ride again.  Club Dread and Beerfest were also good, but some of the other movies like Slammin’ Salmon and The Babymakers failed to meet the Broken Lizard bar that was set so high by Super Troopers.  There’s obviously nothing like the original, but just the thought of these guys back in their uniforms and Captain O’Hagan (Brian Cox) threatening to pistol whip someone puts the biggest smile on my face.

This news comes almost a year to the day after Daniel von Bargen, who played Chief Grady from the Spurbury Police, was rushed to the hospital after a failed suicide attempt.
