Dude Gets A DUI On A Zamboni Because YOLO

During a high school hockey game last week, 27-year old Steven Anderson was tasked with the ice resurfacing duties. Unfortunately, the game fell on a Friday which is apparently the same day of the week that Anderson prefers to get turnt*.

While resurfacing the ice, or attempting to, during the first intermission, fans and officials witnessed Anderson driving the Zamboni erratically and bumping into the walls. The police were called and when they arrived, they arrested Anderson on suspicion of DUI. He was out on bail on Saturday morning after an overnighter at the county B&B.

This was not Anderson’s first DUI. In fact, this wasn’t Anderson’s first DUI in the last six weeks.

He was arrested and convicted of another DUI charge in December, according to North Dakota court records.

Anderson pleaded guilty to that DUI charge and was sentenced to 20 hours of community service and was not allowed to use alcohol until Jan. 6, records say. He was also fined $1,000.

In that same incident, he was also charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Larson said the Park District was unaware of the Dec. 15 DUI or possession charges but said the district conducts background checks on its employees at least once per year and has a zero-tolerance policy about drinking on the job.

Needless to say, Anderson lost his job at the Fargo South Sports Arena.
