Kanye West threw himself (back?) into the spotlight again this week with his epic ranting speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. There, he received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award for — actually, I have no idea what the award is for. Lifetime achievement? Who knows?
But whatever, he got it and Taylor Swift presented it to him. Clearly a stunt by MTV to give everyone the feels since host Miley Cyrus was busy drilling every reference to marijuana she could directly into the ground, but I digress.
So apparently, the story is that MTV, Taylor Swift and Kanye agreed that she would present him with the award and he would apologize for taking the microphone off of her in 2009 at the same event. Then everything would be rainbows and gumdrops.
But we’re dealing with Kanye, so obviously he went off script.
He spent 11 minutes doing his best Def Jam Poetry reading and no one really knows what the f–k he was talking about except that he plans on running for President of the United States in 2020. Why not?
