Former World Champ Kelly Pavlik Being Investigated For Pellet Gun Attack

Former world boxing champion Kelly Pavlik can’t seem to keep himself out of trouble. Over the summer, he was involved in some sort of altercation at a Foo Fighters concert in Youngstown. That case is still ongoing, but now Pavlik has a whole new set of problems to worry about.

According to WKBN in Youngstown, a police report was taken on October 14 by a man from Boardman, Ohio who claimed Pavlik shot him with a 22-caliber pellet gun. In the report, he claims that Pavlik shot once and just missed his head, while his follow up shot struck him in the arm.

According to the report, the incident happened at Pavlik’s home in Canfield in August. The victim admitted he, Pavlik, and others had been drinking prior to the shooting.

Jerry Greene, the Mahoning County Sheriff, is tasked with bringing charges against Pavlik, though none have been filed yet.

“Right now, we’re investigating it,” Greene said. “We do have a video of it that we’re still looking into. We’re not ready to release that yet.”

“We’re conferring right now with the prosecutor’s office, trying to figure out what to do with this and if we actually have enough to file charges,” he said.

Pavlik’s attorney was contacted by the news channel and although he and his client are aware of the situation, they offered no comment.

The fact that the police have video of the incident smells a lot like a settlement.
