If you had the number one pick in your fantasy football league this year, odds are you were either taking Adrian Peterson or Arian Foster. Most would take AP with the number one overall but I’m sure some people flipped the script and ended up snatching Arian Foster at the one spot (happened in my league).
If you aren’t a fantasy footballer but just your normal, everyday, run of the mill crazy fan of the NFL, then you too are happy to hear Arian Foster is off the physically unable to perform list (calf, back injury during OTA’s). Foster, whether you’re a fan of the Houston Texans or not, has been awesome to watch, running for at least 1,200 yards in his last three seasons and amassing 41 touchdowns.
If you don’t fall into either of the aforementioned categories, then maybe you are a sports bettor. This is uge (no room for the H) for any sports book or online site offering odds on the NFL season. If Arian Foster is ready to go week one against the San Diego Chargers, that 3 point line in the Chargers favor is going to move south in a hurry. Also, their odds to win the Super Bowl may move from 12/1.
Regardless, don’t expect to see any of Arian Foster during the last two weeks of the preseason, though. Head coach Gary Kubiak doesn’t think his star needs to risk the injury to get some reps.
“I don’t think it’s a must that he carry the ball in preseason to be ready for San Diego,” Kubiak said.
Arian Foster feels the same way. He won’t need preseason carries if he can get good reps in practice.
“I really don’t know. Some people do, some people don’t,” Foster said. “I feel like I think if I get a sufficient amount of practice carries and get my wind up football wise, my wind is fine, just getting that acclimation back to football [I’ll be fine]. I don’t know, we’ll see. I’m not a huge fan of preseason. I feel like I’ll be ready for Sept. 9 without any … I’ve been playing for a while. I just have to get myself back, acclimated with football. I’ll be fine.”
I think Arian Foster is still a great pick at 1 or 2 and I don’t think his back or foot will be an issue. However, it is easier for me to say that since I picked 5th and took C.J. Spiller.
