Joe Montana The Latest To Blame Tom Brady For DeflateGate

Super Bowl XLIX is a few short days away and if the online betting site Titan Bet is any indication, it is going to be a close game. Hopefully we are treated to a more exciting game than last years Seahawks massacre of the Denver Broncos. However, there is a serious chance for another Seahawks victory is the Patriots can’t put this Deflategate scandal behind them. If you think they will be too distracted, hit the Titan Bet football betting site and load up on the Seahawks.

If you are one of those aforementioned people who think the Patriots have too much to overcome, Joe Montana is probably your favorite person right now since he took the opportunity to join the pile-on-Tom-Brady train before it rolled into Phoenix.

The four time Super Bowl champion is the latest to come out against the New England Patriots quarterback and we’re not talking about Montana criticizing what UGG Boots Tom is wearing. I’m talking about Deflategate, as it has come to be known.

When he was asked his thoughts on the matter and whether or not he thought Brady had anything to do with it, he was rather candid.

“If I ever want a ball a certain way, I don’t do it myself,” Montana said, “So, somebody did it for him. But I don’t know why everybody is making a big deal out of trying to figure out who did it. It’s pretty simple. If it was done, it was done for a reason.”

Who would know better than one of the greats? Montana then continued to break it down further.

“I mean, it’s easy to figure out who did it,” Montana said. “Did Tom do it? No, but Tom likes the balls that way, obviously, or you wouldn’t have 11 of them that way without him complaining, because as a quarterback, you know how you like the ball. If it doesn’t feel like that, something is wrong. It’s a stupid thing to even be talking about because they shouldn’t have the rule anyway. If you want to see the game played at the best, everybody has a different grip, everybody likes a different feel.”

For the record, I agree with Montana. Each quarterback should be able to inflate, deflate, scuff, scratch or do whatever they damn well please with the ball. The bottom line is the butts in the seats. If you entertain those butts, everyone wins.

Also, the way that Montana talks so freely about this makes you wonder if this isn’t common practice around the league. Perhaps all the quarterbacks have a preferred game ball and this was the opportunity to let the Patriots fall on the sword for everyone. Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are standing in the bright, hot lights of theses press conferences backing the bus over one another while the rest of the quarterbacks in the league just kind of whistle and look around aimlessly, like nothing is bothering them.

I will leave you with two notes to take and digest after reading this stellar prose.

  1. Tom Brady grew up idolizing Joe Montana…wonder how he feels now?
  2. If Brady were to win, he would join Terry Bradshaw and…ding ding ding…Joe Montana as the only four-time Super Bowl Champion quarterbacks in NFL history.

Maybe Montana is just a hater? Maybe Brady is just a cheater?

Haters gonna hate. Cheaters gonna cheat.
