Kyle Busch cited for driving 83 mph over the speed limit

Kyle-BuschThe star of Joe Gibbs racing found himself in a bind when he was test driving a brand new yellow Lexus sports car.  Busch was cited for careless and reckless driving and speeding after an Iredell County Sheriff pulled him over for going 128 mph in a 45 mph zone.

“I was test-driving a new sports car and I got carried away,” Busch said. “I went beyond the speed I should have been going on a public road. I apologize to the public, my fans, sponsors, and race teams for my lack of judgment.”

Busch was cited and released after signing a written promise to appear in court for the citations.

A spokesman for NASCAR said that this should not effect his status with NASCAR and that he will be allowed to race this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

This reminds me of good old Ricky Williams’ speeding ticket from 2002 where he was clocked at 126 mph.  Although 2 mph slower than the NASCAR driver, Ricky was speeding in excess of 101 mph.  So if your math is up to par you know that Ricky Williams was going 126 mph in a 25 mph zone.  How is that even possible?
