Luis Guillorme may be the #17 prospect on the stats sheet for the New York Mets, but he is definitely #1 in their hearts.
During a spring training game in Florida, Miami Marlins Adeiny Hechavarria swung at a pitch from Mets pitcher Robert Gsellman and lost control of his bat. Also lost during the at bat were the vowels in those names.
Like it was absolutely no big deal, Guillorme reached out and grabbed the flying bat and simply tossed it back to the on deck circle. I’m not even this graceful with I’m deliberately playing a game of catch.
Extra points for the beard, too.
