Steelers Super Bowl Champs gear going towards a good cause

steelers-super-bowl-shirtThe Pittsburgh Steelers lost Super Bowl XLV to the Green Bay Packers. We all already know this but I will never get tired of stating the fact. Like any other championship game, there is apparel that is produced so that mass shipments can be made immediately after the event. The Super Bowl was no exception. Boxes upon boxes of Steelers World Champion t-shirts and hats were useless after Sunday night. But only useless to those of us who have a roof over our heads and food on our tables.

The boxes of “useless” memorabilia were sent to the World Vision organization. World Vision is a christian organization that’s main focus is helping people in poverty striken countries. The unused Steelers gear will be shipped to Zambia, a country in southern Africa that borders the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Along with the Steelers gear, the Jets unused AFC Championship apparel will also be distributed to people in need.

One thing is certain. The AFC fan base is expanding exponentially with these losses.
