This is what a $60 MILLION high school stadium looks like

Everything is bigger in Texas…well that saying has never been more true than it is right now.  The above is a picture of the new $60 million Eagle Stadium at Allen High School in Allen, Texas.

The new digs will boast 18,000 capacity (still only FIFTH biggest football stadium in Texas), a 75 x 45 foot HD video scoreboard and a weight room that would make small colleges jealous.  It also has a press room, private boxes, an indoor wrestling practice facility and an indoor golf practice facility.  The stadium took about 2 years to complete and was funded by the community, who raised the money as part of a $119.4 million bond package in May of 2009.  The voting wasn’t even close as the bond package passed with over 63% of the vote.
