Welcome Class of 2009!

I know I can speak for most of us here at Thunder Treats when I say Welcome Class of 2009!

Wednesday we welcomed in a new class of Buckeyes, 25 in total with 14 coming from the buckeye state. We didn’t have the one big name recruit like last year but players like Jamaal Berry, Dorian Bell, Duron Carter and Youngstown’s own John Simon and Corey Linsley more then make up for it. The buckeyes recruiting class is #4 in the country and these players are to thank for that. Jamaal Berry is the #3 ranked RB in this class, with us losing the black and decker helmet wrecker to the NFL draft Jamaal is a huge pick up that I’m sure will be called upon this season. Another player I looked forward to watching on Saturdays is John Simon, this kid is a freak. Simon (6-3,285, 4.7 forty) was a standout at the Army All-American game in San Antonio. Simon has NFL combine strength right now, as of today his max on bench is 445 pounds, also he has done 48 reps of 225. It’s been a few years since Ohio State has had a DT that can clog up the middle, Simon just might be the answer. I can’t wait to watch this class prosper on the field, hats off to Jimmy T and his staff for another great recruiting class.
