Tallest Roller Coaster In The World Planned For Orlando’s SKYPLEX

Most of the best roller coasters in the world can be found at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. I mean, they’re dubbed “Roller Coaster Capital of the World”, so you see what I’m saying.

While this isn’t going to take their title from them, it is definitely shocking to see someplace other than Cedar Point become home to the tallest roller coaster in the world.

Orlando’s SKYPLEX entertainment complex is going to be 495,000 square feet of awesome. Arcades, simulators, bars and restaurants are among the planned attractions. But the icing on the cake?

The Skyscraper.

Orlando will become the home of the worlds tallest roller coaster when construction is complete on this 568-foot behemoth. The 5,200 feet of steel track twists around a giant observation tower like a DNA helix that is laced with ADHD. The ride will be lengthy too, taking the better part of three minutes to complete. Check out the video below.

I’ve said before that I am over amusement parks. I don’t find them all that amusing anymore. But if places are willing to flip the script and become innovative with their rides, then I’m down to give it a second shot.

Your move, Cedar Point.
