Kenny Lofton Helped Write A #1 Song For Ruben Studdard

The all seeing eyes of TMZ recently caught up with the Velvet Teddybear Ruben Studdard and found out an interesting fact about one of his biggest hits.

It was co-written by former Cleveland Indian Kenny Lofton.

Studdard told the photog that Kenny Lofton did serious writing work on the hit “What If” from his 2003 album “Soulful”.

Studdard said that Lofton was college roommates with one of his good friends, Harvey Mason. Mason and Lofton wrote a lot of music together at University of Arizona where they were both athletes. Mason also has six Grammy’s in his cabinet. With lyrics like these on “What If”, it’s hard to believe it’s not seven.

“Girl you know I’ll do whatever it takes, you know I love you like I used to love cake”
