Lil' Wayne Almost Out; T.I. Heads Back In

ti-lil-wayneRapper Lil’ Wayne is down to less than two days until his release from prison where he has been serving a year long sentence stemming from 2009 gun charges.  Weezy will be getting out 4 months early even though his behavior hasn’t been all that good.  Since Wayne has been in lock up, he has kept in touch with his fans by having his letters published on the website WeezyThanxYou.com.  Not only are his letters from prison published, but a list of fans that have sent him letters are thanked with each letter.  I am very sad to say that Lil Wayne did not acknowledge me in any of those letters.  Whack Wayne, I want answers when you get sprung.

On the flip side of the rap spectrum, Clifford Harris, aka T.I. is headed back to the clink after being free for about 7 months.  He spent most of 2009 behind bars and it looks as though he will be doing the same for 2011.  T.I. was sentenced to 11 months for violating his probation when he and his wife were arrested on drug charges in LA on September 1st.  The biggest question is whether or not T.I. will release his much anticipated album “No Mercy” (formerly King Uncaged) album while behind the prison walls.  Lil Wayne had success releaseing I am Not A Human Being while still in jail and maybe T.I. can do the same.  This album was originally supposed to be released August 24th, but was then pushed up to August 17th.  Soon after that, the release date was moved back to September.  After his arrest at the beginning of September the release date was postponed and has not been rescheduled.  The first single off the new album, “Got Your Back”, was released June 1, 2010 with the presale of the album starting two weeks later.

If I ordered the album in June I would be pissed.  What better way to apologize to fans than to release your album?  It better not suck, Clifford.

See ya in 11 months…
