Some people love to play sport. It’s the thrill of being involved in a competition and wanting to be the best. Allowing that competitive nature in you to come out. However, for some, it’s all about being the spectator. When you think about it, being a spectator of sport is quite exciting. You have no control about what is happening, nor do you have any idea what the result will be. Often there is an underdog story to get behind and it can turn mundane viewing into edge of the seat action. It got me thinking about what sports offer that kind of viewing experience regularly. With that in mind, here are some of the most exciting sports to watch.
Baseball
Baseball has long been a sport that you can enjoy, no matter what age you are at. In theory, it’s a relatively easy sport to follow, which is why I think it appeals to the masses. Two teams, batting out, all with the vision of hitting a home run. What’s exciting about this sport is you have no idea when that dream hit is going to take place. No matter what the player’s batting average is, anyone of them has the chance to hit the sweet spot.
Horse racing
You can read all the latest horse racing news but when it comes to it, any one of those horses and jockeys can have a great day. Horse racing is quite an exciting sport to watch. Especially if you have decided to place a bet on one of the horses. While it’s always worth remembering to gamble responsibly, it can make the whole thing a lot more exciting.
Golf
Let’s be honest here. On first thought, golf isn’t one of the most exciting sports in the world. One of the more slower paced events it’s no surprise that you come to that conclusion. However, like most of the other sports mentioned it’s the unpredictability of the game that makes it a great spectating sport. Anything from the weather and the conditions through to how the golfer is feeling. It can all have an effect on the overall game. Making it very exciting at times.
Gymnastics
While it may not be a popular sport for many, gymnastics can really have you on the edge of your seat. Some of those moves they can pull off on the apparatus or floor are simply incredible. What makes it exciting is the sheer hope that they manage to do what they set out to. Getting the perfect scores and landing just right.
Athletics
Finally, athletics can be a great spectator sport. So many inspirational stories can come from the athletics in some of the major games like the Olympics. Whether that’s completing a race after injury, or defying the odds as an underdog to win gold. Whether it’s a track or field event I guarantee once you have invested some time, you will be on the edge of your seat.
