Anquan Boldin Traded to The San Francisco 49ers for a 6th Round Pick

Anquan Boldin, the man who couldn’t be stopped by the 49ers in the Super Bowl, will now be wearing the red and gold.  Confirmed by Adam Schefter, the Baltimore Ravens have sent Anquan Boldin and his $6 million dollar salary to the San Francisco 49ers for a 6th round draft pick in April’s draft.

The Ravens would have liked to keep Boldin around but were unable to pay him the $6 million he was owed.  With Boldin’s legacy and year put into the league, it was clear he wasn’t going to take a pay cut.  So, the 49ers with cap space, have added another wide receiver behind the dangerous Michael Crabtree.

Perhaps John Harbaugh, coach of the Ravens, felt bad for whooping his brother in the Super Bowl last month?  I’m pretty shocked at this deal, it seemed to me that Anquan Boldin was worth more than a 6th rounder…but what do I know?

That was rhetorical. Do not answer that last question.

Earlier today, it was announced that Percy Harvin was headed to the Seattle Seahawks from the Minnesota Vikings.  The Seahawks, though, had to cough up a bit more than the 49ers did with Boldin.  The Vikings will receive Seattle’s first round pick and seventh round pick this year and a mid round pick next year.

Both of these trades, pending physicals, should make the NFC West a lot of fun to watch next season.  Kaepernick/Boldin/Crabtree vs Wilson/Tate/Harvin will be entertaining to say the least.
