For as long as I can remember one of my favorite times of the year has been the Spring. Mainly because of all of the sporting events taking place in a 4 to 5 month window. The culmination of NCAA March Madness is one the things I look forward to the most. The One Shining Moment montage at the end of the tournament is some of the best 3 minutes in sports. However, this year they decided to fix something that wasn’t broken and have Jennifer Hudson sing One Shining Moment. Perhaps it wouldn’t have been as bad if they didn’t show almost 15 seconds of her singing in the studio. This might also be the first time, in my memory anyway, that the song didn’t start with a ball tip but rather the singer in the studio. To add to all of this, they left out half of the field in the montage.
Now I understand that you cannot get everyone in, you only have 3 and half or so minutes and 64 teams, but to not have Ohio State, Syracuse Ohio University or Purdue in is just crazy. With these teams you have a 14 seed over a 3 seed upset for the ages where the team did not just win, but beat them by 14 and you also have 3 of the sweet 16 teams. One of those Sweet 16 teams also has the Player of the Year, Evan Turner. Maybe if CBS and their crew took Jennifer Hudson off the screen for those 15 seconds we could have had a better display of the tournament. Clean it up CBS.
